Angela, originating from the Greek word angelos, meaning “messenger.”

 

While I may not have known it at first, my name couldn’t have been more fitting. Storytelling has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Books, music, TV shows, movies, or video games; it didn’t matter what form a story took. I was always drawn to the way stories could communicate an idea, bring people together, and make us feel connected to something.

Over time, that fascination found its way into my work as a designer. Today, I’m particularly interested in the intersection of brand and user experience design, exploring how visual identities and digital experiences can work together to communicate who a brand is while creating meaningful connections with the people it serves.

My design journey didn’t start like most. I didn’t truly understand what graphic design was until my final semester at Grand Valley State University. While I completed my undergraduate studies with a bachelor’s degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration, discovering design gave me a new way to combine my interests in storytelling, communication, and people.

​

After a few jobs and internships, and a great deal of prayer and patience, I found my way back to school. Now, I’m pursuing a second degree in Graphic Design at Oakland University, continuing to grow as both a brand and UX/UI designer. Whether through a visual identity, digital product, or the experiences in between, I want my work to help bridge the gap between brands and their audiences.

Through the work I create now and in the future, I hope to become the messenger I aspire to be.
