Angela—originating from the Greek word angelos, meaning “messenger.” 

While I may not have known it at first, my name couldn’t have been more fitting. Storytelling has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Books, music, tv shows, movies, or video games – it didn’t matter what form a story took. I was always drawn to it. Over time, those stories were shaping the kind of messenger I would become: a designer who keeps a brand’s story at the center of everything I create. 

The work I do focuses on narrative based brand design – building visual systems that communicate the meaning and purpose behind every brand and its products. 

My design journey didn’t start like most. I didn’t truly understand what graphic design was until my final semester at Grand Valley State University. It was then that I realized that it’s the intersection between storytelling and design. And while I completed my undergraduate studies with a bachelor’s degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration, I knew my education wouldn’t end there.

After a few jobs and internships, and a great deal of prayer and patience, I found my way back to school. Now, I’m pursuing a post-bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at Oakland University – fully committing to honing my skills and becoming the messenger I was always meant to be.
